Great directors - Greatest Blunders

Mani Ratnam, Shankar and K Viswanath are three great directors in South India, whom many people admire a lot. For the wannabe directors, they are like demigods. I really like these three guys a lot, but that couldn't stop me observing some of the blunders they did in their movies.

K. Viswanath directed a movie "SUTHRADHARULU" starring ANR, Sujatha and Bhanuchander. In this movie,Bhanuchander studies well and directly becomes IAS officer (!!!) that too to his own District. As far as I know it is not possible for any guy to become District collector immediately after passing IAS (They say "He passes IAS", Not Civil services nor UPSC exams - but this is forgivable as cinema should be undersatable by masses) . Moreover, he gets posting in his own district. Everybody knows that it is not possible in India to get IAS position in his own district, for any guy who just cleared UPSC. But probably to allow for much needed melodrama, director might have taken this as cinematic liberty.

Second one is from the great director Shankar's great movie Bharatheeyudu (Indian in Tamil and Hindi). Hero (Old Kamal) innocently asks officials why he should give bribe. It is shown as if he learns about corruption in India only after his daughter's fire accident. Might be.., It might be possible for an old man who lives in a remote village not to be aware of dominantly prevailing corruption..! But he is a freedom fighter! How come he did not know for 50 yrs abt the cancerous corruption. He comes into action only after something happens to his daughter. I think this is the inconsistency in the
development of charecter..

In Manirathnam's Nayakan, Kamal shot dead by one of his assistants in climax. But it is shown as if that guy gets that revolver from his father's brief case who was once a police. As far as i know the revolvers will be soon handed over by the government if a police officer dies. So no point in showing as if the revolver is safely there in his briefcase in his house for 20 yrs after the death of the policeman!!!But still these films are good films..and received great applause from audience
